Description
Imported from New Zealand in 2021, Thistledown Oscuro is a stunning blue black male with an exceptionally solid frame and a broad chest. His most standout trait is his exquisite broad, wedge shaped head, a trait he is stamping on his progeny.
His fleece has great density and lock length with high luminosity and a real depth to his lustre, again a trait he passes on to all his Cria. He has continued to carry a 22 micron fleece into his adult years.
Oscuro is Grandsire to 50+ championship awards in the UK over the last couple of years, but proved himself as the outstanding black stud he truly is when his son Winsaula Trendsetter won BAS National Fawn champion at the National Show. Competing in a fawn class with the very best of white and light breeding, it is pretty spectacular for black breeding to win!
Oscuro comes from two of Thistledown's best producing Sire lines, Thistledown Zanzibar through his Dam, and Valley of Peace Leviathan through his Sire.
He has a wonderful easy temperament and has received a ribbon at every show he has attended. Before leaving NZ he won Champion Senior male at the AANZ National in 2017and was put forward for the Supreme line up.
Oscuro has maintained his fine fleece into his adulthood and is producing multi championship Cria with 17.20 micron fleece with an SD of 3.8.
